General Summary: The Secondary Assistant Principal uses leadership, supervisory, and administrative skills.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

 

  • Assists principal in administration of school services as principal in his absence and assumes assigned duties and record keeping functions.
  • Assists in the supervision and preparation of student schedules.
  • Makes and supervises the staff duties schedules.
  • Cooperates in conducting safety inspections and safety drill practice activities.
  • Coordinates transportation, custodial, cafeteria and other auxiliary and support services in his/her building.
  • Supervises the reporting and monitoring of student attendance and works with the attendance supervisor for investigative follow-up actions.
  • Assists dean/s in maintaining high standards of student conduct and enforcing discipline as necessary, according to due process rights of the students.
  • Assists in the administration of student activities process rights of the students.
  • Assists in the supervision and evaluation of all certified and provides supervision and evaluation of all classified staff.
  • Administers the student's insurance program at the business level.
  • Serves with parent, faculty, and student groups as requested in advancing educational and related activities and objectives.
  • Performs other duties related to these areas of responsibility, as assigned by the Secondary Principal.
  • Supports Arkansas Department of Education curriculum frameworks and District curriculum.
  • Assists in reviewing and evaluating by the school's testing program and other measures used by  the  school.
